Privacy policy

Who I am
MHDev is Martin Holecek, a sole trader based in Burton upon Trent, UK, building custom business systems — admin dashboards, CRM tools and internal software. For anything relating to this policy or your personal information, email [email protected]. I’m the “data controller” for personal information collected through this website.
What information I collect
Only what you choose to send me through the contact form:
- Your name, company name, email address, and phone number (optional)
- Approximate company size, project type, and budget range
- What you tell me about your current tools, processes, and the admin problem you want to solve
If we continue the conversation by email, I’ll also hold that correspondence. This website has no user accounts, no newsletter, and no marketing list. Like most websites, the infrastructure that serves the site (Cloudflare) keeps short-lived technical logs — such as IP address and browser type — for security and performance.
Why I collect it
I use your details to reply to your enquiry and discuss a potential project — in UK GDPR terms, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) — and on the basis of my legitimate interest in running the business and keeping a record of enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)). I don’t use your details for marketing, and I never sell or share them for advertising.
Who handles the data
A small number of service providers process data on my behalf:
- Formspree receives and stores contact-form submissions and emails them to me. Formspree is a US company operating under UK-recognised international transfer safeguards. See the Formspree privacy policy.
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
- Google — my email replies are sent via Gmail. (The site’s fonts are served directly from mhdev.co.uk, so viewing this website sends nothing to Google.) See the Google privacy policy.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies. I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see overall visitor numbers — a privacy-first tool that uses no cookies, doesn’t fingerprint your device, and doesn’t follow you across other websites. It shows me anonymous, aggregate figures (page views, referrers, countries), never a profile of you. There are no advertising trackers.
The interactive examples
The business system examples run entirely in your browser on fictional sample data. They use your browser’s local storage to remember your choices while you click around, such as the colour theme and any changes you make to the sample records. That information stays on your own device, is never sent to me or to anyone else, and each example has a “reset demo data” button that clears it. Nothing you type into an example reaches a server.
How long I keep it
Enquiry details are kept for up to 24 months from our last contact, so I can pick the conversation back up if your project resurfaces. If we end up working together, records are kept for the length of the engagement and any legal record-keeping period. Ask at any time and I’ll delete your details sooner.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask me to access, correct, delete, or restrict the personal information I hold about you, object to my processing of it, or ask for a copy in a portable format. Email [email protected] and I’ll respond promptly. If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes — for example, if I switch to a different analytics tool — I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
